I was born and raised in Indiana.  I graduated from Ball State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  I am certified in the following: Elementary K-6, Mathematics 5-9, ESE K-12, Family and Consumer Science 6-12, and Guidance and Counseling Pre-K - 12.  I taught in South Carolina for one year before moving back to Indiana where I went on to teach 16 years in Indianapolis.   I wanted to try something new so I owned a tutoring franchise for a bit and currently hold my real estate license. We have two amazing kiddos and they both attend school here in Venice. We moved from Indiana to Venice in June of 2017.  I taught 5th grade one year in Sarasota County before resigning due to the need of a flexible schedule.  I subbed for 5 years in both Charlotte and Sarasota County Schools as well as Sky Academy and Student Leadership Academy. From the very first time I stepped foot in SLA, I knew it was the place to be! I am thrilled to teach 7th grade math and look forward to cultivating and maintaining positive and productive relationships with parents, students, faculty/staff, and the community.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my crazy, fun family and friends. We love to explore new places (love adventures), play games (very competitive), cook/dine (anything food related), hunt for shark teeth (our favorite spot is Manasota Beach), listen to live music, attend sporting events, and relax/nap.
